Rhodes (Rodos) - Ρόδος

It is too hard to express my thoughts about Rodos. The island - one of the bigger in Greece - has so much to offer. Hundreds of pictures come to mind, the charming old port, the unbelievable full of life medieval old town, the lovely aquarium, the butterflies valley, Lindos town, the magnificent beaches at the southern east side … are just a start. Rhodes can be visited again and again and again …

Symi - Σύμη

Probably the most scenic island of Dodecanese, Symi features a magnificent port, outstanding buildings in the main village, and crystal cool sea water. Most beaches are only accessible by boat, so are the surrounding islets. Any noise - including music - stops at midnight! A remarkable summer festival is taking place every year.

Tilos - Τήλος

A little pleasant surprise of Dodecanese. A windy island with great beaches, a charming port, an old ghost village, the Megalo Horio with magnificent view, and a strange palaeontology - little elephants used to live here! Not sure if it lost its calm after the first gay wedding though.

Nisyros - Νίσυρος

The other aegean volcano, does not remind Santorini at all. It's a round island with the crater at the top of the mountain in the middle! It does not remind any of the other Dodecanese either. Nisyros has its own mystic charm and will reward your visit.

Astypalaia - Αστυπάλαια

Kind of isolated from the rest, Astypalaia reminds more of Cyclades rather than the Dodecanese. The shape of this island is strange, like two islands tight together by a cord. The narrow part is as wide as the road, with a beach in each side. The "Chora" is very scenic, and the view from the -until recently inhabited- castle is breathtaking. The port village is also nice and there are great beaches around the island.

Kos - Κως

The island of Hippocrates, with the asklepeion and a well preserved castle. Cyclist friendly, sandy beaches, thermal springs in Therma. Kefalos area is nice and less crowded.

Pserimos - Ψέριμος

Between Kalymnos and Kos, lies this little island with just one little settlement. The beach is amazing with clear waters. Its a popular day excursion, at night just peace and quiet!
